OK so I know that the challenge is officially over...well has been for a while and I slacked off on the blogging. BUT I want to keep the blog up and going just for random thoughts and accolades about their man, life, family, whatever. Fellowship is one of the things God wants us to do so why not continue this online fellowship, right? :)
I have a confession. I was watching a lovey dovey girl movie (Made of Honor w/ Dr. McDreamy) and filled with all sorts of sweet, warm, love sick feelings about my Chris. A good ol' romantic comedy always brings out the best in me. :D So I'm sitting there sending Chris tons of txts telling him how much I love him, appreciate him, am so grateful to have him, so amazed by his constant love and acceptance of me and how much I need him everyday for the rest of my life. (Pretty good stuff eh? :) ). The movie ends, I sigh, and since Evan is still napping I move to my bible study. GREAT priorities eh? DOH. ANYWAY, so I'm reading about the forgiveness of God, the Good News and what it REALLY means. This may not be a new revelation for some, but for me it was a light bulb moment.
God loved and loves me ALL the time. He has ALREADY forgiven me for the things I have done, am doing and will do. I think I knew this in my head but hadn't really stopped to ponder it. The God of the universe has done all that He has, including sacrificing His son, simply because He wants to be with me! His entire purpose is to have a daily, constant, close, personal, intimate relationship with me! And this holds true for everyone! I beat myself up for not being as pious or devoted every day as I think I should. I DON'T get to study everyday. I DON'T spend the day in a constant state of prayer. There are days where a prayer NEVER enters my head! God's literally moved heaven and earth to have a relationship with me and there are days I don't even think about Him. And...you know...He STILL loves me. He already knows that about me and it doesn't affect His love for me at all! He knows my faults, He knows everything about me and when I finally wake up (over and over) and come to Him, He is overjoyed JUST TO HAVE ME COME. Just as the prodigal son's father - He just wants me to be with Him.
So in my revelry about my husband and the amazing man that he is, in his ability to love me despite my faults, how he genuinely wants to be with me all the time, forever, I realized how much more this is true of my God. My Heavenly Father is so much more than that and how many times have I showered him with grateful txts and praise?!?! So, now, when I have those moments I am filled with love for my husband and need to tell him, I will also remember who gave me that man and give Him his props before all else.
How MUCH I love my awesome God.
